David McSharry

David is a known member of the AI alignment movement both in Ireland and abroad. He is a Stanford Machine Language alignment theory scholar, previously starting Ireland's first AI safety fundamentals course and EA community. As that progressed David won funding from the Future Fund to conduct further research on AI explainability. David studied Theoretical Physcis at Trinity College where he later worked on developing electron microscopy software before transitioning more completely to AI. In Trinity he achieved Gold at the rowing national championships club tier for DUBC where he met Garry. David, Garry and Fareed then later progressed to being recognized for their AI engineering efforts by the Business post 30 under 30. 

In his spare time David enjoys organising AI reading group meetups and making wagers on Tech prediction markets like Manifold.
